Christopher Nolan's life and works are e comprehensively inherited from the rich heritages of Stanley Kubrick's experimentation, Steven Spielberg's creativity Martin Scorsese's cinematic hangover, Hitchcock's psychological tussle, Kurosawa's moral and spiritual insights, Andrei Tarkovsky's artistic framing. David Lean's grandeur, Satyajit Ray's auteur persona, yet colored with indie panache.

I believe, it is no less than a sin to die without making an attempt, to know what we came here for, that is, 'the reality' or 'the truth of existence. Right from the times of Vedas, it is the quest of man and still remains an unsolved puzzle. People from castern part of the world, sat in dark caves and explored the inner world through the days and nights to find out what it is. Whereas, the western part of the world settled in sophisticated laboratories, built telescopes and kissed the surface of the moon. Latter can be witnessed but former cannot be. In other words, east tried to find out the nature of universe in the psychic sphere, while the west attempted to discover the basic building block of the universe. It was all a game of mind and matter.
For many centuries, most of the scientists have managed to shun the door of metaphysics. It's because they are scientists! They don't want to mix up (mess up?) with philosophy. They say, 'I can show you the bulb and telephone that I invented, can you show me your truth or some enlightenment?' This attitude of division between the science and philosophy takes us nowhere. People like Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein outshined rest of the flock, since they embraced both of them. Greek sages like Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Pythagoras were all polymaths and made efforts through both scientific and philosophical approaches. These sages proved that the science and philosophy corroborate each other, when we go deeper into them. These two were not separate streams in the beginning, as everything originated from the same mind. Now, it is great to see that there is a significant research taking place to understand the consciousness consciously. In cosmology, we have reached to an extent where we know what is there millions of light years away and can estimate the size of a black hole, which is 1 million times bigger than our home planet-earth. And we are able to speculate on the nature and building blocks of it, which was thought to be inconceivable and unfathomable. It's no surprise if our children go on a space vacation in the near future.
When we observe the history of mankind closely, we notice a fact and pattern that man always tried to express his experiences. The process of exploration and expression went together hand in hand. and that is how the art came into picture. Art is created out of insights and so it provides insights to the audience. "What comes from the heart goes to the heart" said Coleridge. Like the river taking different courses, art found its different forms from Literature to Sculpture, Painting to Music and they reached their pinnacle during the renaissance period. After the industrial revolution in the 19" century. when the west started embracing the luxurious life, many scientific inventions were made. It led to a proliferation of a new art form called cinema or motion pictures. Gradually it evolved from black and white silent films to a new IMAX and 3D films. Cinema became an inevitable part of our lives. Films progressed to a magnitude where they dominate over all other art forms and influence the very culture and lifestyle of the people. Cinema is woven into the very fabric of modern society.
