Lord Krishna says that we are eternal living beings, who neither die nor cease to be; we only keep changing bodies in the circle of life.
Can this seemingly never-ending process ever come to an end?
It can, for Lord Krishna reveals in the Gita that we, all beings, are eternal and are God. He teaches the science of Yog which can endow this realisation to us. Those who realise this, will be freed from sorrow, old-age and death, and shall stop changing bodies. For they will have attained immortality.
You Are God is an attempt to understand this wisdom that can change life on earth forever.
Almost by chance, Shashi Verma, a practising Chartered Accountant, came upon the Supreme Truth and the science of Yog through an enlightened person Shihn Diljit, some 10 years ago. This opened to him new insights into the ancient scriptures and he assiduously took up the task of delving deep into the Bhagavad Gita, trying to understand the exact connotation of Lord Krishna's words.
Over the years he read and re-read the Gita several times while continuing with the practice of Yog. As time went by, he felt the need to place before the world the amazing facts that he had managed to absorb. The result of six years of deep research and hard work is this path-breaking book You Are God.
According to the author, man has to do two things to know and attain God. First, believe in all the words of God written in the scriptures without any doubt or criticism. Second, practise the science of Yog which consists of mentally renouncing one's actions and their fruits to God without in any way changing one's life style or routine.
Shashi Verma lives with his parents, Keshav Dev and Yash, his wife Seema, his sons Sachin and Gaurav, daughter-in-law Jyoti and daughter Richa in New Delhi, India.
