Episode 1 - Concentration This week on Yogasutra, practice dharna, otherwise focus or concentration on the galloping mind. All asanas practiced mindfully and with a coordination of breath and movement, improve ones ability to concentrate. But certain yogic postures, such as inversions or balancing postures, drive you to heighten your focus or dharna.
Episode 2 - Chest Strenthening and Toning Did you know that any movement, even blinking your eyes, requires the coordinated activity of several different muscles? All muscles work in conjunction with other muscles and Yogasanas help not only tone and strengthen muscles but also the overall functioning of organs connected to them. For instance, postures that use the muscles of the chest also strengthen the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increase blood circulation in the area and improve your breathing and cardiac functioning. Episode 3 - Balance Learn the Balancing act, on Yogasutra. It is known in the sutras that a physical equilibrium goes a long way in securing the mental state as well. So this week, improve your posture and steadiness and to do that strengthen and tone the different muscle that you use to balance your body. A regular practice of balancing postures, will not only strengthen and tone the legs, arms and the spine but also the entire body.
