A Puja temple, marking the pure and sacred space for the deity is one of the most important elements in Hindu ritual worship. It is the abode of your beloved Lord and the center of all auspiciousness in your home. Keeping in mind the requirement of modern space and ancient culture, Exotic India Art has brought to you this large designer wood and brass temple, ready to embrace the presence of the divine.
The wooden temple has a rectangular base which is adorned with a contemporary outline and polished surface. The edges of the platform are decorated with peacock figures fashioned out of pure brass with a leaf in their beaks. Peacocks in Hindu tradition are auspicious birds, associated with Sri Ganesha, Karttikeya, goddess Saraswati, and Matrika Kaumari, making them a propitious addition to the decoration of the wooden temple.
Between two peacock figures is a lovely brass flower- a motif that signifies purity, beauty, and good fortune. Holding the wood and brass temple on their backs are four stylistically sculpted icons of Hamsa or swans, birds that are connected to exceptional wisdom due to their ability to differentiate between impure and pure knowledge.
On the tasteful wood base of the temple stand four brass pillars, extraordinarily polished and designed similar to the pillars of Indian royal palaces. To mark the dwelling of the divine and separate it from the rest of the world, a beautifully shaped roof is added to the wooden temple which is embellished with tiny ghungroos (bells) infusing the sanctum with the heavenliness of music.
The Shikhara (top) of the temple is a magnificent globular form decorated with an inverted lotus-shaped Amalka on which the Kalasha (auspicious pot) of the temple is placed. A striking repetition of elements which is a common feature of Indian architecture can also be marked in this brass and wood temple, on whose roof, copying the central Kalasha, four smaller Kalasha-like features are added to the corners.
In the front of the wood and brass temple, a modern drawer is smartly concealed behind the ancient brass motifs of the sides, to take care of your requirements of storing Puja samagri (implements used in worship). With this superbly handcrafted temple in your home, you will always have a fitting throne for your deity.
