This large Urli made from bronze belongs to the artistic heritage of Bangalore. It contains the auspicious image of Deepalakshmi sitting in a devotional pose carrying a lamp. The Urli main body is traditional with the typical wide mouth structure. It is further decorated with coiled vines on the crown a dedication to the Hoysala style of ornamentation evident on the walls and sculptures of the ancient temples of Haleibidu and Belur.
There is a divine figure of Kirtimukha on the chest of the Urli making it a perfect fit for placing idols which is further confirmed by the presence of a small throne inside the Urli. Looking magnificent from all angles and exuding divine grace, the Urli attached with lamps also comes with stands resembling lion paws. The piece has been constructed for a house that carries regal status, inspired by the Mysorian Royalty.
