This Tibetan Turquoise Hair Bead is made of Sterling Silver and ornamented with a large turquoise stone at the center. A few wire motifs around the stone resembles vines. It resembles the shape of a conch. The conch is a symbol of knowledge in traditional Buddhism. This ornament is traditionally worn by Tibetan women by passing a strand of hair through the holes in the beads and then securing it through a knot that exists at the lower end. This bead which has an antique look must have beautified generations of hairstyles and has now become a symbol of tradition and craftsmanship, it is now an heirloom.
