Dressed in traditional attire, the female dancer strikes the famous pose of Nataraja, balancing her body and mind on the curved foot of Shiva, whose sacredness and power have been narrated in the lyrical poetry of Tamil Shaiva devotees.
Her right-hand points to her feet in Suchi mudra, a gesture of focusing the mind on one thing, while the left dangles in Gaja-hastha mudra.
