An artwork completely absorbed in ecstasy exhibiting the beautiful representation of the culture and heritage of Madhubani village of North-eastern Bihar, India. Madhubani paintings are thriving all over the globe from twenty-five-hundred years because of their ecstatic way of painting the figures and drawings with vibrant natural colors and dyes inside geometrical compositions. Note that this enchanting painting has been made on handmade paper with the prominent use of blue, black, orange and red colors.
Here, Lord Krishna, the ever youthful, the all-attractive, and the reservoir of all pleasure, is wonderfully described playing His divine flute. He sits on the bank of Yamuna River under the Kadamba tree that bears small and beautiful round flowers. Look at His multicolored perfectly pleated dhoti down to His ankles. The Supreme Lord Krishna places His flute to His soft lips and starts blowing it. When its transcendental sound enters the ears of the beautifully dressed gopis who were engaged in their regular household activities, they become mesmerized and all their anxieties go away. They look at the effulgent face of Krishna, their eyes filled with bliss and immense love for Him.
The leaves of the Kadamba tree spread, the peacocks start dancing, the fishes become joyous and the lotuses fully blossom when the sweet play of Krishna’s flute is heard. Thus, this painting, with the magic of its colors, inspires us to always seek the shelter of Lord Krishna, who with His causeless mercy, takes away all our worries and pains, and puts us into the highest state of happiness.
