On the banks of the Yamuna, Sri Krishna stands playing his flute. Enlivened by its tunes and the proximity of the dark-skinned Lord, the tree under which Krishna is standing, blooms, and is ladened with fruits and flowers. A pair of parrots, a symbol of love in Indian culture, sit on the branch of the tree.
In the background,
residents of the forest have come out of their places, to witness the celestial
musician in their abode. Two peacocks, Krishna’s favorite birds, and a
recurring symbol of romance stroll in the foreground. Surrounded by his faunal
audience, Krishna continues with his Lila.
