This painting highlights the folk art of these classic lovers in a very pristine and subtle manner. The artist renders his art in a sandy background, with the speedy winds forming a sandy aureole of divinity at the back, painted with a blend of yellow, brown and white tones. The cosmic lovers stand close to each other; Krishna holds her hands, portraying their immense love for each other.
Krishna is clad in a bright yellow garment and a red contrasting pyjama with a yellow turban extending backwards, adorned with red and green stones. Radha wears a light mehendi green colored long skirt filled with beautiful pink flower embroidery and a red blouse covered by a slight reddish dupatta that flows down at the back and front leveling the hem of the skirt. Both are decked with marvelous jewels; Krishna is depicted in his usual bluish skin tone while Radha wears the ivory shade.
The expression of their eyes- Krishna looking at her in a delightful pleasure and Radha sheepishly looks down, but connects completely to her lover’s positive vibes. The two peacocks surrounding them emphasize their purity and divinity. Presence of flowers in the front and green bushes, that seem to be flowing in joy at the back, represent their happiness being equally shared by the natural flora.
