The coming together of Radha-Krishna is a reason for all of nature to delight. Under a kadamba tree laden with fruit and leaf and flower sits the Vrindavan cowherd. The peeta silk of His dhoti contrasts with the rug beneath Him. Between His limbs sits the gracious Radha, His incomparable beloved. He winds Her long braid around His fingers and draws Her closer to Himself, as if to take Her in a long kiss. Beseechingly She looks into His eyes, clutching at the roots of Her hair to ease the gentle pain His gesture is causing Her.
A visual medley in predominantly green tones transpires around the lovers. In the foreground is a quiet gray stream. The lotuses blooming on its bosom are as if turned to gaze at the amorous couple at the foot of the kadamba. The flower-laden branches of the trees curve towards them from all directions. Milk-and-charcoal clouds gather over the glade they are in. Radha and Krishna are surrounded by a number of peacocks, each perched as if for an optimal view of the lovers as they are about to fuse into one.
