क्वचितप्राणृतै: क्वाचिदुन्नदद्भिः,क्वचिच्च वृक्षग्रनिषणकायै नमः ।व्यालम्बबार्हाभारणैर्मयुरै,र्वनेषु सङ्गितामिव प्रवृत्तम् || The peacocks are dancing and singing in different places. They are also lying on treetops with their large plumage falling. The peacocks appear to have begun a musical symphony in the woodland.
This verse from Valmiki Ramayan describes the beautiful ambiance created by the dancing of peacocks. The birds have been respected and represented in many art forms from the land of Bharata. This nine-wick peacock lamp is one of the finest uses of the graceful motifs of peacocks in art. The brass lamp comes with an attached lid with a graceful peacock motif situated atop. The lamp basins have nine crisp wicks. When the lid is closed it only covers the oil basin and the wicks remain exposed to spread the holy light. The lamp also has beautifully ornated stands looking like coiled vines. This lamp is at the peak of artistry and ritualistic objectification. Lighting this lamp brings grace, beauty, and blessings to a space.
