The all-powerful Hindu trinity comprises Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Brahma. Together they are responsible for the cycle of existence - creative projection, preservation, annihilation leading to creative projection anew, the works.
When it comes to iconography, each of them wields a signature implement: trishoola (trident) in the anterior hands of Lord Shiva, chakra in one of the posterior hands of Lord Vishnu, and shankha in the anterior hands of Lord Brahma.
Each of these has been incorporated into the lamp that you see on this page. It goes without saying that such a lamp would be a particularly auspicious addition in any home or office.
A long, thick-set stem with the trishoola of Lord Shiva at the zenith, directly below which is a tray of continuous lamps with five wicks. Zoom in on each section of this central stem in order to appreciate the intricate engravings on its perfectly symmetrical body. Across the midpoint of the stem is a flat, curving sprig of vine.
From either end of this sprig dangles a similar tray of lamps - continuous, five wicks each. On one side is the chakra of Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma’s shankha on the other. Any devotee who appreciates the import of the trinity and how the triguna confluence is symbolised by traditional lamplight, would find this an irresistible buy.
