This 12 Astrology Symbol Wall Hanging is a Kalachakra Mantra Wall Hanging Plate, including Tibetan Astrological Calendar Animals. The Kālacakra calendar is a lunisolar calendar with a 60-year cycle. Unlike the Western calendar, the months last from new Moon to new Moon and are defined by the zodiac sign into which the Sun moves during the month. Occasionally, the Sun does not change signs throughout a month, and this is referred to be an additional, or intercalary month.

In the Kalacakra tradition, the additional month has the same features as the previous month. However, in Tibetan calendars, the intercalary has the same characteristics as the next month.
