Vajradaka, also known as Dorje Khadro in Tibetan, is a formidable and fierce deity called upon in a ceremonial practice aimed at cleansing one's negative deeds and actions. Dhaka is a deity of purification. He is shown holding a vajra and bell, crossed at the heart. His head is sharply turned backwards, gazing upward with an open mouth, leading into the hollow cavity of the sculpture.
The Vajradaka sculpture consists of two parts: the upper figure of Vajradaka and the bottom pedestal designed to contain burning coals and embers. During a particular juncture in the ritual, the individual places black sesame seeds into the mouth of a brazier crafted in the likeness of Vajradaka. These seeds subsequently descend through the deity's form, ultimately landing on smoldering incense or charcoal.
