Kubera, the God of wealth in Buddhism, also known as Vaishravana, is revered as the guardian king of the northern direction and the protector of Mount Sumeru, believed to be the center of the universe. In this thangka depiction, Lord Kubera, the God of wealth, is seated in a regal posture. He possesses a golden-yellow complexion and a plump torso adorned with exquisite gold ornaments. His distinctive features include large, expressive eyes, upturned lips, and a unique mustache and beard.
Draped gracefully around his body is a long, flowing scarf, while below the waist, he is adorned with fine garments. In his right hand, Kubera often holds various attributes such as a sword, banner, lemon, or a flat vessel. However, he is most widely recognized by the mongoose (Nakula) that he cradles in his left hand.
