Aparmita, also known as Amitayus, represents the longevity aspect of Amitabha Buddha, with "Amitayus" translating to "infinite life" in Sanskrit. In Tibet, Amitayus practice is common as it is believed to extend the lives of practitioners.
Buddhist statues of Aparmita feature an immortality vessel filled with "amrita," the sacred elixir of immortality and awakening. During longevity rituals, a replica of this vessel is filled with consecrated wine and serves as the central focus. Devotees partake in the consecrated wine and consume small dough pills as part of this practice to seek longevity and blessings.
