This Brass Statue represents the Goddess of wealth, prosperity, fortune, Lakshmi. She is the embodiment of beauty who emerged from the churning of ocean of milk. She shows the Abhaya Mudra or Jnana mudra. She is related to the chakras of the solar plexus and the heart.
In Vaishnava philosophy, Sri (Lakshmi) is honored as the Iswarigm sarva bhootanam, i.e., the supreme goddess. Her four arms represent the four directions in space and thus symbolise omnipresence and omnipotence of the goddess. Sitting on the lotus pedestal, Lakshmi signifies that while living in this world, one should enjoy its wealth, but not become obsessed with it.
