A simple, decidedly minimalistic lamp. A moderately long, super-slender stem. Unassuming line engravings along its length, each equidistant from the other. A layered disc at the bottom, offering support to and holding in place the ensemble.
Midway through the longline brass composition is a tray of five discrete lamps. These diyas are particularly shapely ones: relatively deep-bottomed with elongated mouths. Filled in with ghee and lit up in unison, they would set off the two-dimensional Gajalakshmi carving at the zenith of the stem.
It is a miniscule depiction of the seated chaturbhujadharini Devi Lakshmi. She is flanked by trumpeting gajas (elephants). Within the space of the archway above Her head is a gigantic lotus, flanked by peacocks and parrots.
Midway between the upturned disc at the base and the tray of discrete lamps above is a shallow disc engraved with concentric circles. Unlike the one at the base, the subtle curve of its body is downwards.
