Plump like a young child and heavenly like a king, Ganesha in this granite sculpture is dotting and divine.
The two feet large statue presents the auspicious Lord seated on an exquisitely sculpted lotus, in the Maharajalilasana pose, a posture of kings.
Ganesha is adorned with the Karandamukuta (inverted basket-shaped crown), bell around his trunk, jeweled necklaces, belly belt, and floral tasseled waist belt.
His attributes and hand gestures are beautifully delineated. As Vakratunda (one with the curving trunk), Ganesha has his trunk coiled to the left, a sacred image, which when paired with his Ekadanta (single-tusked) and Modaka holding form, accompanied with the Mushaka, is the most powerful and auspicious icon according to Vastu and Hindu sacred texts.
