Dhoomra-Varahi (the boar-faced goddess with a smoke-colored body) is a potent aspect of Matrika Varahi, who is also the Shakti of Vishnu’s Varaha roopa.
The granite stone statute naturally carries a dark color, ideal for the presence of Dhoomra-Varahai, who appears adorned in Vaishnava attributes- elongated crown, Kartari-mudra (scissor-like gesture) in which she holds conch and discus.
Varahi’s hands in Abhaya and Varada mudra dispel fear and bless the devotees. The tasseled dhoti of the goddess is exquisitely carved, with symmetrical folds.
The pedestal for goddess Varahi is a two-tiered lotus with a smaller platform atop, giving the statue a sacred and elevated aura.
