Lakshmi : 4.3 Inch Height x 3 Inch Width x 2.3 Inch Depth
Ganesha : 4.3 Inch Height x 3 Inch Width x 2.3 Inch Depth
Sculpted in brass and embellished with inlay work, this creation represents Goddess Lakshmi, also called “Suchi (The Purest One)”, who is renowned as the Goddess of wealth, good fortune, luxury, and prosperity (both material and spiritual) and Lord Ganesha, who is known as the remover of obstacles, patron of the arts and sciences, and the “Deva” of intellect and wisdom. Seated on the throne, they symbolise prosperity, auspiciousness, and divine blessings.
Once, Goddess Lakshmi became arrogant about her wealth and powers, praising herself and claiming she is the only worthy of worship. Lord Vishnu, however, criticised her for not having children, stating that a woman is incomplete without them. Lakshmi sought help from Goddess Parvati, who allowed her to adopt one of her sons. Lakshmi adopted Ganesha and promised Maa Parvati to care for Ganesha and bestow her with happiness.
To seek blessings, those worshipping Lakshmi for wealth must worship Ganesha, as gaining wealth without intellect leads to misusing it. Therefore, Lakshmi and Ganesha are worshipped together.
