In these exquisitely designed brass statues, the artist has shown all the incarnations, with their respective attributes. Each avatar stands independently and is engraved minutely to highlight its individualities. There is a multiplicity of sources providing the list of the 10 avatars. The one followed here and represented in this brass Dashavatar idol group included (from the left) - Matsya avatar (fish), Koormavtar (tortoise), Varah avatar (boar), Narasimha avatar (Man-Lion composite), Vamana avatar (dwarf), Parshurama Avtar (the warrior), Rama avatar (the prince of Ayodhya), Balrama avatar, Krishna avatar (siblings, Adi Shehsha and Vishnu respectively), and Kalki avatar. The Vaishnavas believe that nine out of these ten incarnations have taken place. Kalki, the horse-faced or horse-mounted avatar is yet to come. When Kaliyuga will be at its peak, the last one of the Dashavatar will be born.
