These serpents may also be found in caverns on Earth; I salute them and wish them to be delighted with me at all times.
The serpents are worshipped in many forms from Vasuki to Shesh Naga. There are special occasions like Naga Panchami when they are offered Bhoga (blessed food) and incense to get their blessings. Their depiction in various objects of ritual is considered to be auspicious. This brass lamp with five wicks, situated atop a Naga is a similar ritual object.
