“Dhanalakshmi”- goddess Lakshmi who bestows wealth or Dhana, is an aspect of the goddess of wealth in Hindu tradition, worshipped by her devotees to ensure material abundance and competition of all tasks which depend upon money. In this form, goddess Lakshmi nourishes the need of Artha or means (which fulfill worldly activities), blessing humans with a constant flow of luxury and fulfillment. This superfine brass statue is an ornate and divine depiction of goddess Dhanalakshmi, who is shown seated on a lovely bloomed lotus, wearing a saree whose folds are beautifully delineated, a regal crown, and jeweled ornaments. A garland of lotuses ornaments her, each of whose petals are meticulously detailed by the maker of this idol.
In her secondary hands, Devi Dhanalakshmi carries two lotuses, her right hand is raised in Abhaya or a gesture of fearlessness while her left holds a pot of coins, which she tilts to shower the wealth highlighted by the coins raining from the mouth of the pot on her lotus. With finesse in detail, the expressions and facial features of Dhanalakshmi are marvelously captured in this metal icon, giving an animated aura to the statue.
