Lord Pashupatinath Shiva sits right next to Devi Parvati, His ardhangini (another half). The stance of their long, lithe forms is identical - lalitasana, wherein a single leg is folded and raised to the throne upon which one sits, while the other remains pendant. In fact, the thrones beneath them are also the same: gigantic lotus blooms turned upside down, such that the deities are seated right on the pistils.
Shiva: 9 INCH HEIGHT X 6 INCH WIDTH X 6.9 INCH DEPTH
Parvati: 7.5 INCH HEIGHT X 4.9 INCH WIDTH X 5.8 INCH DEPTH
Shiva is possessed of (‘dhari’) four (‘chatur’) arms (‘bhuja’), which makes the chaturbhujadhari. In the posterior left hand is the figure of a leaping quadruped, an integral element of His Pashupatinath (‘pashu’ is Sanskrt for fauna; ‘pati’ and ‘nath’ for lord and master) iconography. The Devi, on the other hand, is dvibhujadharini (‘dvi’ is Sanskrt for two), which is the norm for the omnipotent Hindu devis whenever they are portrayed next to their husbands.
Both Pashupatinath and Parvati have a hand raised in blessing. Their is compassion and generosity in their gaze, seemingly directed towards ihaloka (mortal realm of existence). From the tall, engraved crowns on their heads to the style of the deities’ attire and adornments, there is a harmony and a likeness in every aspect of the twin figurines.
