Butter Krishna, popularly known in India as “Makhan-Chor” or butter thief, is a dotting and divine play, Lila of Krishna, remembered in art and poetry for ages. Krishna in his Baalya-kala (childhood) is depicted to be eating butter from a pot, creating heart-warming and heavenly imagery in the artwork. This small brass statue brings the sweetness of Butter Krishna, with marvelous intricacy and detailing. Sitting comfortably, Krishna has his hands around a pot of butter, while gazing at the onlooker with a charming smile and animated countenance.

He is adorned from head to toe in beautiful ornaments and wears his Moramukuta or peacock crown over his lovely hairdo. His murli or flute is tucked in his waistcloth. The finesse and polishing of this brass statute are par excellence, making this small Krishna icon a beautiful Roopa of the Lord for his devotees.
