An orange and red Banarasi is a traditional heritage drape, straight out of the treasure chests of royals. Both orange and red are lovely shades of Sindoor or vermillion, applied by married Hindu women as a symbol of Saubhagya or good fortune. With the two auspicious shades spread all over the silken fabric, the saree is a perfect space for the regal Zari work, infusing the whole drape with exquisiteness. Floral vines or Phool bel pattern is used on the border and a rich overlay of floral motifs inspired by art of medieval rulers is adorning the pallu, to craft a gorgeous drape for the big days.
