Kashmir has always been the most charming and colorful origin of beautiful hand embroideries; its people, no matter how modern, are still connected with their traditional or ancestral bonds of traditions, cultures, attires and language. Despite of the arrival of an array of attractive, modern and colorful apparels, the people of the valley are still charmed by their traditional phirans, although now in modernized patterns. It remains the most popular outfit of males and females with a difference of just the kind of embroidery and work.

A traditional phiran for women is generally very long, touching the feet, however a relatively modern variation has conquered the markets now, as shown here, a pure wool phiran extending a little longer, below the knees with side slits and is ari embroidered in colorful flowers and a thin border of coiled vines with an exclusive styled neck.
