The Sacred Hindu goddess of wealth and good fortune, who transforms dreams into reality

The fact that Lakshmi's sacred title is Shri is a great predictor of how popular the Goddess is. Most texts begin only with term "Shri," which is additionally said before greeting a goddess, a guru, a religious leader, or any other revered individual. The word evokes images of elegance, riches, abundance, good fortune, and grandeur, among many other things.

A sacred environment is produced whenever the word is spoken or recorded. Everything occurs after the message is blessed by God. Because married people can utilize the resources of the world to provide for their families and civilization as a whole, they are referred to as Shriman and Shrimati.

Shriman can not be used to allude to hermits considering that they have decided to give up material possessions, and Shriman and Shrimati are not commonly utilized to allude to single people as they are still practicing for the lifestyle of a householder. Similar to how the word "aum" is linked to the metaphysical aspect of living, the term "shri" is linked to the materialistic aspect of existence.

The growing popularity of Goddess Lakshmi

All primitive civilizations have a heritage of glorifying the purity and magnificence of the planet as a deity. The Hindu rendition of the everlasting goddess of fertility who feeds and preserves all creation is termed as Shri-Lakshmi. In India, Lakshmi is adored by Buddhists, Jains, and not only Hindus.

Buddhism and Jainism are primarily communities of monks that rejected Brahmanical superstitions and Vedic customs about 2,500 years ago. Nevertheless they weren't able to abandon this magnificent divinity.

In the Buddhist Jatakas, there are reports of both men and women praying to the goddess Lakshmi to drive the disaster goddess Kalakanni away. Most Buddhist monasteries exhibit representations of Kubera, the pot-bellied yaksha-king and gods' financier who is closely connected to Lakshmi.

When a noble entity like a Tirthankara will soon be born, it is claimed in sacred Jain literature that his mother dreams of several auspicious events, such as the goddess Shri. Both Buddhists and Jains believe the ubiquitous Lakshmi emblems of wealth and royal authority to be auspicious.

They seem to be the pitcher, the heap of jewels, the throne, the fly whisk, the shell, the fishes, the sunshade, the nagas, the yakshas, the stool, the horse, the elephants, the cows, and the desire-fulfilling tree.

The fact that Shri-Lakshmi's ode, the Shri Shukta, was included into the Rig Veda, the earliest and also most cherished of Hindu scriptures, somewhere between 1000 and 500 BC, stands as a testament to her long and rich history.

Fragmented verses in the Satapatha Brahmana, which had been published shortly after the Vedas, depict Lakshmi's genesis from Prajapati's mouth to provide the planet's inhabitants food, clothing, housing, as well as other luxuries. She also bestowed the wonderful moments in society- knowledge, power, elegance, fortune, authority, and grandeur.

The Puranas, a compendium of chronicles of deities, kings, and sages that was published around 500 and 1500 AD, are also where Lakshmi's myth evolved on its overall form. Among the 3 primary incarnations of the ultimate mother-goddess—the other pair being Saraswati, the deity of enlightenment, and Kali or Durga, the deity of authority- projected in them.

Lakshmi was depicted as Vishnu's companion, sitting on his lap or at his feet, in addition to being an autonomous deity. The Vedic earth deity Prithvi developed into Bhoodevi in the Puranas and a version of Lakshmi.

What is the connection between Goddess Lakshmi and the asuras?

Lakshmi, the goddess, originally lived with the demons and afterwards handed them to the gods. Before she embellished the palace of Indra, she decorated asuras like  Bali, Prahalad, Virochana, Hiranyakashipu, and Hiranyaksha, rakshasas such as Ravana, and yakshas such as Kubera.

Who is the Goddess Maha-Lakshmi?

Lakshmi played an increasingly important role as Maha-Lakshmi in Tantrik literature, which were published during the same time frame as the Puranas. Nothing brings out the complex beauty of the Oriental goddesses quite like the medium of lustrous brass.

Goddess Lakshmi being the deity of wealth and prosperity, the gold-like form of brass does justice to what She heralds in Hinduism. She sits on a divine lotus, Her four arms bearing blessings and symbolic elements of the Hindu tradition. Singular idols of varying statures and exquisitely embossed ritual implements complete the Exotic India collection of Goddess Lakshmi in brass.

Do you have Lakshmi Kubera coins?

Yes, we have the coins of the goddess Lakshmi and Kubera. Vastu prescribes keeping these coins in your home to create a constant inflow of wealth and luxuries in your life.

Which type of Lakshmi idol is good for home?

Lakshmi Devi is the eternal consort and internal potency of Lord Vishnu and is considered an important deity in Vaishnavism. She is also known as the Goddess of fortune as she bestows the devotees of Lord Vishnu or Narayana with material and spiritual prosperity. Therefore, keeping the deity of Lakshmi Mata at home is very auspicious.

To get her special mercy, you should preferably buy a statue of Lakshmi seated or standing beside Lord Vishnu. But if it is not available, you must keep a statue in which she is seated in the Padmasana position upon a lotus pedestal.

Which is the favorite color of Goddess Lakshmi?

Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune, is revered as an important deity in Vaishnavism and Shaktism. She is the eternal consort of Lord Vishnu and always remains engaged in His loving service. The Vedic literature  often describes her as a young and beautiful woman with a golden bodily complexion. She wears a red-colored Saree and sits on a full-blown lotus flower. It is believed that her favorite color is red and for this reason, people offer her red roses.

How to use Lakshmi Kubera coins?

Dhanteras is the first day of Diwali and is celebrated in honor of Maa Lakshmi, the reigning deity of Diwali, and Lord Kubera, the banker among the Gods. Do puja as per Vidhi- Vidhan prescribed. Place the photo/idol of Lord Kubera and Goddess Lakshmi on the puja platform and or draw the sign of Swastik with Sindur on the chest (Tijori) or a business book. Start puja invoking the deities.

Offer flowers, Chandan, Akshata, Doop, Deep, and Naivedhya while chanting Lord Kubera Mantra. Kubera coins are to be used for Archana while chanting 108 Lakshmi mantras during Lakshmi Kuber Pooja.

It is important to first offer Kubera a significant amount of wealth by placing that wealth on the puja table. Also offering this gift of wealth opens the channel to receiving wealth in return.
