One of the most baffling phenomena of our times is the exploding population in some countries, including our own, on the one hand and childless couples on the other hand who are ready to go to any length to have children. This latter phenomenon has led to advancements in medical technology with in-vitro fertilization proving a boon to many, longing for children. Yet though the IVF procedure promises hope to childless couples, many a time these hopes are dashed to the ground when inspite of several attempts, the results do not show up. The mental and emotional trauma compounded by the huge sums of money involved in such exercises, many a time, leave the couple devastated. Why is it medical procedures fail at times? What it is it, that denies one, the joy of having a child? And what factors help one get children the natural way or through medical assistance. Such questions that baffle modern society find an answer only in Jyotisha or astrology, ancient India's intellectual legacy to the world. And it is into this little tread area of life that the author Dr. Mohandaas, a technocrat as well as a research scholar in Jyotisha, takes us on a journey that resolves many questions on the subject of children and also childlessness.
The present volume is the result of the culmination of research studies in Jyotisha of Dr. Mohandaas and which provides one, safe guidance in life on the subject of children, childlessness and extinction of the family line. A benchmark work in this area of Jyotisha, the author's detailed exposition of the subject can be of great help to both the academically inclined as also the practicing astrologer.
It is hoped the author will come up with findings on other related aspects of children such as infant deaths, mentally and physically challenged children as also criminal streaks in young kids that could help all sections of society.
I wish Dr.Mohandaas all the best in his research endeavors and literary forays into Jyotisha.
In simple and uncomplicated terms, Astrology is a Science of Time and Space with respect to life. Our sages of Vedic Astrology altruistically enumerated a number of ways and means to live a momentous life. Based on the configuration of Grahas at the birth, they tested and formulated the parameters of good and bad effects of Grahas and elucidated in the form of sutras and stanzas to us, without having a wish for anything in return to them.
In a birth chart, 12 houses carry the entire life, good or bad, according effects of the balance Karmas of our previous births to be experienced in this life. As per Bruhat Parashara Hora Shastra
(Meaning: The almighty incarnated as the Grahas to bestow on the living beings the results due to their Karmas)
The deployment of Grahas in a birth chart can influence the affairs of many houses directly or indirectly, by direct Aspect (Graha Drushti), Rasi Drushti, by Argala, mutual placement in Rasis or on Nakshatras. Accordingly the net results may get modified.
This book enquires about infertility which cannot be included in the category of disease. Fifth house from Lagna, the Moon and Santana Karaka Jupiter are evaluated to ascertain infertility. 9th house from Lagna is also to be evaluated. Apart from this basic conventional analysis, special astrological sensitive points like Beeja, Kshetra Sphutas, Santana Thithi and Santana Trisphuta are arrived. Saptamansha (D/7) chart is also analyzed to arrive at correct conclusion. 3rd and 9th house Aruda of the Sun is also found out to ascertain infertility.
The Motto of this book is identifying the grey area pertaining to infertility. Astrologer community has got a responsibility to check and ascertain infertility while matching the charts for marriage, itself. If an astrologer finds the initial indications for filial happiness is truncated, at least he should try to find out Beeja and Kshetra Sphutas and Santana Thithi in them and verify them for fertility. It may consume maximum 10 minutes to work out these sensitive points. This is a social responsibility of an Astrologer to reduce the chances of infertility. Remedial measures are also given in this book. Readers may check the efficacy of them.
The author does not claim any originality. From the classical texts, stanzas and formulae are culled out and reproduced in this book. Searching, culling out and mixing relevant stanzas on Vedanga Jyotisha and rearranging them serially in an order and applying them to charts is mine. This book does not contain any new rules. All the credit goes to the classical authors and modern writers who selflessly worked hard to enumerate infertility in birth charts and to my GURUS and teachers who taught me this great Shastra.
Now-a-days infertility clinics are coming up in every town. They even employ unethical means in the name of modern health science to quench the thirst for a baby by infertile couples. Year after years after of treatments, some remain in the same condition as in the beginning, complaining about their Time plus Money loss. Such clinics consider only monetary benefits. If a proficient astrologer finds that chances of children are not there in a chart, the owner of the chart should be counseled to go for adoption and to settle the quench of a baby, thus saving the couple from financial burden and malpractices at the hands of the so called infertility clinics. If any chances of children are seen, then the astrologer should give them a suitable Muhurtha to go for IVF also. Let us combine Astrology and Science for the benefit of mankind to enhance the quality of life of human beings.
The author has been practicing Astrology since 1980. The infertile cases handled/ consulted are scrutinized and from them 224 charts are included in this study. A thesis was prepared by me based on these charts and submitted to get PhD in Vedanga Jyotisha from Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Nagpur in 2018. The same thesis is reorganized with necessary changes and is reproduced in the form of a book for identifying infertility.
The author has tried maximum to be make this book error free. Erudite readers may kindly enlighten me, so that in future editions they can be rectified.
