Dr. Hariharan is one of the pioneer Music Therapist and Music Healer and a trained classical Vocal Performing Musician. He holds a Ph.D in ethnomusicology from India and another Ph.D from USA on Music Therapy. He has widely traveled and has attended many International Conferences. He has conducted more than 600 workshops and 300 Lectures on the Healing Powers of Indian Music Therapy in several countries including USA, Canada, UK, Italy, Austria, Singapore, Seoul, Japan, Hong Kong. Switzerland, Germany, Greece for the past three decades. He has authored with his mother and mentor Prof. Gowri Kuppuswamy (Retd. Professor, Mysore University) more than 50 books and 60 Research Papers on various aspects of Indian Music and Dance -published in India and Leading International Journals. He was invited as the Guest Speaker in more than 400 Rotary Clubs around the world (between 1995-2024).

Dr. Hariharan, who comes from a traditional family of musicians has made his mark with his Research publications and Essays co-authored with his mother and Mentor Prof. Gowri Kuppuswamy. I have been continuously reading all their writings and essays which are highly useful for the music lovers and students.
Dr. Hariharan has been intensely associated with the introduction of Music Therapy programs at the Tamilnadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha Music and Fine Arts University at the academic levels. He has done yeomen service in propagating and popularizing Indian Music Therapy through his workshops, lectures, Audio CD's, Healing Concerts, Individual and Group Healing Sessions for more than three decades at various Universities, Colleges, Medical facilities, Health Care Centers, Unity Churches, Spiritual Centers, Yoga facilities, Senior Citizen Homes etc in different countries abroad.
Dr. M. HARIHARAN, the author of this pioneer book on INDIAN MUSIC THERAPY was earlier initiated into Musicology and Research in Indian Music. After acquiring his Doctoral degree in Music from Mysore University in 1980, He and his Mother cum mentor and Guru Prof. Gowri Kuppuswamy Co-authored more than 50 Research Publications and 60 Research Articles on various aspects of Indian Music and Dance.
