Although originally written in the 16th Century, Wajid's simple innocent insights contain a message sorely needed in these times. Love, that much overused word, is the key to solving our individual problems and global problems. As Osho points out in his supremely eloquent commentary on the mystic poems of Wajid, the whole concept of competition and politics is based on hatred. It is time for each of us to search for a new way of living; it is time to give love its day. If not, there's everything to lose.
"Wake up! No one else is creating a barrier to your becoming awake other than your habit of remaining unconscious, your old relationship with unconsciousness. There is no other obstacle. You have developed grooves; you are walking in ruts. Sadness has become a habit. You have forgotten how to smile; you have forgotten how to dance. I just want to remind you of that."
Osho defies categorization. Mystic and scientist, a rebellious spirit whose sole interest is to alert humanity to the urgent need to discover a new way of living. To continue as before is to invite threats to our very survival on this unique and beautiful planet.
His thousands of talks cover everything from the individual quest for meaning to the most urgent social, political and environmental issues facing society today. Osho's books are not written but transcribed from audio and video recordings of his extemporaneous talks to international audiences. And he tells them, "Remember: whatever I am saying is not just for you...I am talking also for the future generations."
The head can only create pseudo things, substitutes. You can remain engaged in them but your life will be wasted. You will remain a wasteland, a desert. You will never bloom, you will never know what an oasis is. You will never know any joy, any celebration.
When I say believing can make impossible things possible, I mean believing in the heart an innocent heart, the heart of a child which knows not how to say no, which knows only yes. His yes isn't against no. The child doesn't say no inside and say yes out- side. Then it is of the head. That is the way of the head: yes outside, no inside; no outside, yes inside. The head is schizo- phrenic, it is never total and one. When the heart says yes, it simply says yes. There is no conflict, there is no division. The heart is integrated in its yes; that is true believing, trust. It is a heart phe- nomenon. It is not a thought but a feeling, and ultimately it is being, not even a feeling. In the beginning trust is a feeling, in its final flowering it is being.
