He is full of ideas. He is full with words. He is full with anecdotes. His memory holds him in good stead. His backup sustains him in all his scribbling. His flow floors one and all when it comes to creating identification with his readers. His technique is not difficult to uncoil. His style has a uniqueness of its own. Yes, Rajbir Deswal creates a scene with expressions which have a lyrical flow. And precisely here lies his ability to take along his readers-whether it be a middle, a short story, a feature, a travelogue, a book review, technical articles or even a poetical creation.
That I have edited all his works is beside the point particularly when most of his works are almost co-executed by both of us. But the credit definitely is Rajbir's. A commonplace thing made so sacrosanct as qualifying to merit space in columns of dailies is the man's forte. His tenacious hold on his passion to keep writing and getting published too makes him a writer of the veritable mould the creators are cast into. But Rajbir does posses a knack for creating something out of nothing.
My exhortations and implorations of him to try his hands at writing a novel do not however find favour with him. He says he doesn't have patience enough to sustain him all through the work. And to some extent I believe him. Still I will wait for the day when he gives in and gives out his best in fiction writing too most of the other genres having had been handled by him dexterously and with wide appreciation, conceded.
