In today's fast-paced and competitive world, success is often measured in terms of material. We all crave external validation and recognition. However, as human beings, we are more than just our external accomplishments. Despite materialistic gains, we may begin to feel that the yardsticks applied to measure success are misleading. External achievements provide a sense of achievement, but a sense of fulfilment might still evade us, leaving that unexplained emptiness within, that yearning for a sense of connection to something greater than ourselves and a way to navigate the complexities and challenges of our modern world with clarity, compassion, and resilience. This can be attributed to the fact that we have an inner world that needs to be nourished and developed for us to live truly fulfilling lives, the key to which can be found in a balance between materialistic pursuits and spirituality. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to understand and connect with one's spiritual side.

The concept of intelligence has evolved over the years, and we now recognise different types of intelligence, beyond the traditional measures of intelligence quotient (IQ) and emotional intelligence or emotional quotient (EQ). One of these types is spiritual quotient (SQ) or spiritual intelligence-the ability to connect with and make sense of one's inner world.

The concept of spiritual intelligence has been gaining traction in recent years as a way of describing a distinct aspect of human intelligence that goes beyond our cognitive abilities and emotional intelligence. It encompasses our capacity for awareness, insight, intuition, empathy, and ethical decision-making, as well as our sense of purpose, meaning, and connection to the transcendent.
