The life of Sri Rama is a good model for all of us. How outstanding a person can became or to what heights he can rise in life, these we can learn from this book 'The Ramayana': Its Impact on Human Life.

Sri Rama's pure character who was the best of men and who observed due bounds of propriety in his behaviour is inspiring and is guiding every individual even today after lacs of years. His entire life which was motivated by the observance of due bounds of propriety laid down by the Vedantic philosophy has been the guiding force right from his childhood till the end of his life.

Whenever we cast a glance on any part of his life, nowhere violation of the observance of due bounds of propriety is visible, whether events relate to his student life or his married life, whether he is functioning as an administrator or a Ksatriya. He has also performed his roles excellently in the capsacity of father and son, husband and wife, king and his subjects, master and his servants, teacher and students or in his attitude to his brothers.

In all the above mentioned roles of life, Lord Rama presents everywhere a controlled ideal life. It is because of these reasons that with his name, the best of men is closely associated and his characterisation of his pure and brilliant personality and life is indicative of his majestic status among human beings.

The adjective attached with his name (the best of men) has not been attained in entirety by any other great person uptil today. Therefore, when Maha Rsi Valmiki asked Narada Muni as under :-

Who is equipped with rightful qualities, that is to say, that great human being in this mortal world who is valiant, knowing dharma, grateful, truthful, firmly determined, possessing truthful character, benefitting others, scholar, powerful, controlling his senses, looking upon all impartially and is fearless etc.
