This book is an anthology of essays on various facets of Rudraksha. The book is the outcome of more than one decade of research by the author on Rudraksha. The author has visited many sacred places, consulted religious practitioners, and gone through scriptures voraciously to produce this book. That is why readers shall find quotes from scriptures across this book. This book aims at describing the use of various faced (Mukhi) Rudraksha in astrology. In some essays, some spiritual aspects of Rudraksha are also mentioned. But the prime motive of the author is to spread all possible messages on Rudraksha. Even if the book discusses the astrological uses of Rudraksha, anybody desiring to know about this sacred bead can also go through this book. As it is a collection of essays on various types of Rudraksha, readers can browse through any essay of their choice. The book clarifies the dogmas associated with Rudraksha, such as genuineness and rules to wear it. In some essays, there needs to be very basic knowledge of Astrology to understand the applications of Rudraksha. But some other essays are meant for general reading only. Rudraksha is a mystic and very powerful bead to bring all-round well-being to the wearer. The author tries to educate the readers on one hand and eradicate the superstitions associated with Rudraksha on the other.
This book is a combination of my published papers in various astrological journals like The Planets and Forecast, The Astrological eMagazine and The Express Star Teller. Rudraksha¹ was keen to my heart more than a decade ago while I started suffering from high blood pressure. Rudraksha beads as said to be the panacea for high blood pressure, I started wearing a simple mala of Rudraksha. From that day, I encountered many questions like the genuineness of Rudraksha, its uses in various fields like spirituality, ayurveda, astrology, etc. While I suffered from this dilemma, I found Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was spreading the massage on Rudraksha. I started listening to him. Even though his views were basically on the spiritual uses of Rudraksha, I had very few available options to ponder more on Rudraksha research. Almost no modern literature is available on uses of Rudraksha. However, I managed to find some books and started building my knowledge about this sacred bead. Gradually, I went to Isha Yoga Centre, Rudraksha Testing Centre, Ayurvedic practitioners, Rudraksha sellers, etc. to know more about these mysterious beads. But to my utter dismay, I did not find more ideas on these beads. In the sacred texts of the Hindus only the religious sides of Rudrakshas are mentioned.
