Preface This book s a valuable collection of very interesting and instructive series of long essays contributed by Sri. Jnanananda Bharathi Swamigal (formerly Sri. R Krishnaswamy Iyer of Tirunelveli) over a period of time to journals like Kalyana Kalpataru (English) of Gita Press, Gorakhpur.

The subjects dealt with are varied but they all basically related to the First of the Four Purusharthas, viz., Dharma and its relevance to the tomorrow life, individually and collectively-Samanya Dharma and Vishesha Dharma.

The genius of the most respected author and the felicity of his pens to present even the most difficult subjects pertaining to the tenets of Dharma Shastras and Vedanta in a lucid manner with homely illustrations, is seen in all these sketches written by him. Equally evident are the courage of his conviction and his eagerness that the value of a dharmic life should be told to one and all for their own good and no time should be lost.
