Yoga Pushpanjali has many first to its credit. It has two never before seen qualities of exceptional brilliance blended together-firstly the astrological combinations put in beautiful Hindi poems and secondly the marvellous commentaries on these Yogas by a man who is popularly known as an intellectual giant of astrological rationalities. Such a lengthy, detailed and logical commentary adumbrated on the razor like sharp edge of the logic and the common belief that WHY and HOW does not work in astrology, has been totally decimated for the first time in this book. The students who are engaged in serious and articulated research in the field of astrology would find this book as an eternal guide that can help them develop a true insight of the subject. For the first time also, both the esoteric exposition of the Yogas have been provided together by the learned commentator which is bound to give new direction to the art of interpretation by according a comprehensive understanding of the subject. This book may change the prevalent trend of writing commentaries in the days to come. It is again for the first time that the abstruse and pristine principles of astrology has been made intelligible to the readers with its applicational grandiose. For those who have been avowedly against Tantra and have been constantly waging a war against this greater of the greatest wisdom of the ancient sages, this book would serve as an eye opener. The hidden meanings of the astrological principles and their occult implications have for the first time been elaborated in the light of Tantra doctrine in this book. Also for the first time, the myth and dogmas associated with many of the auspicius and inauspicious astrological yogas have been torn apart by scholarly, logical and bold dissertations on this book all this could have been made possible only by the towering brilliance and thought provoking enunciations of U.K. Jha, something that has earned him a difference in the arena of astrology. We feel enthused to assert that this is not merely a book with difference but also a book in its own class which would attract both the discerning students and the savants with 000equal charm and warm.0
A post graduate in political science, Mrs. Sunita Jha has great interests in literature and astrology. She studied astrology from her elders in the family and has a gifted talent for composing poems which she has brilliantly utilised in the field of astrology. With her sharp wit and deep knowledge of astrology, she has achieved a remarkable feat by composing astrological combinations in magnificent Hindi Poetry, something never done before with so much ease and lucidation. Yoga Pushpanjali is one of her such excellent works in the field of astrology. Because of these poetries of marvelleous beatitude, it would be extremely easy for the readers to take these Yogas by heart. The copious notes on each of these Yogas along with live illustrations by the learned commentator has made this book immensely valuable. Other books of the author on astrology written in beautiful Hindi verses are 'Bhava Sindhu" "Hora-Suman", "Naveen Jatak Kaumudi", "Jyotish Sarit Sagar", "Bhava- Kiran", Kanta Kumud" (on 7th house) and "Hora-Lahari". Each of these books are like precious jewels in the deep sea of astrology.
1 am very happy to write the forward of this brilliant work titled 'Yoga Pushpanjali' at a time when curiosity as well as as controversy about scientific nature of Astrology is reaching its peak on one hand and when urge to fathom the unfathomable Supreme is growing day by day on the other despite Maya's glittering and blinding illusion.
Yoga Pushpanjali is a wonderful attempt to explain the working of Yogas in the backdrop of holistic approach of Vedic Sciences, particularly Vedic Astronomy, the waves, and rays caused by the planetary motions and emissions in the form of radiations understood in terms of Tanta by Yogis and Tantriks. There are many Vedic texts dealing with the science of subtle vibrations, viz. Spanda-Karika, Spanda- Pradeepika, Spana Samdoha, Spanda Nirnaya etc. Observations of our Seers led them to understand different cosmic forces working simultaneously with different degree of forces and their impact on animate and inanimate objects. It is an understanding of unified field of the scientist, its modifications by planetary motions governed by the will of the Supreme, its rhythm, vibrartions; cycles form the basis of Vedic Astrology. It is understanding of the laws of the universe to borrow the words of Albert Einstein "...a spirit manifest in the laws of universe, a spirit vastly superior to that of man and one on the face of which we, with our modest powers, must feel humbled". In case we appreciate the existence of the supreme or supreme consciousness along with unified and assumed unified field of energy with the supreme consciousness, we may be in a much better position to appreciate 'Shakti' in the shape of unified field of energy and supreme consciousness in the form of 'Shiva'. One cannot wish away the supreme consciousness for even a great physicist and Nobel attempt to dispel the discrepancies in the thoughts associated with them. This book has dealt with 39 main yogas with alternative definitions pulled out from the standard text, 10 Raj Yogas dealt in 117 beautiful meter and rhythm bound couplets. The commentary is vast and impressive on each Yoga covering nearly whole gamut of astrological parameters; 51 birth charts mostly of dignitaries have been dealt with to illustrate the manifestations of various Yogas with their logical, rationale, wit and wisdom. Different canals of astrology, namely Karkamah, Arudha etc. have been used to illustrate the formation of Yogas to make the things more lucid and interesting for the learned.
