The Ashtamangala Ghau from Nepal is a sacred relic, a vessel of spiritual significance intricately crafted with reverence. Carved from the Himalayan heartwood, this Ghau encapsulates the essence of Nepalese spirituality. Ghau are amulet boxes that can work as portable shrines and are commonly used as protective talismans. Ghau protects those who travel long distances for pilgrimage. Ghau gets its power from the many sacred artifacts they can carry or wear, such as little texts, blessing cords, consecrated medicines, holy relics, and miniature images of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, or other deities.

These boxes, which come in various shapes and sizes, are frequently made of hammered metal or carved wood. Their surfaces are richly decorated with auspicious symbols and lovely motifs. This Ghau is blessed with Eight auspicious symbols, the Ashtamangala, each representing profound aspects of Buddhist teachings. The center of the vessel is empty, thus allowing the devotee to put the images of any deities. Sterling silver enshrines the sacred geometry, creating a harmonious balance between earthly elements and divine spirituality. The Ghau, a portable shrine, serves as a sanctum for prayers and relics.
