A unique picturization where the fair skinned Radha is dressed in Krishna's pitamber and the dark-skinned Krishna posed as Radha in her ghagracholi and odhini. Notwithstanding the cross-dressing, their unbridled passion is visible in the glance aimed at each other. What they share is heightened by the full moon night, the reflection of the moon falling on the dusky waters of the Yamuna.
The foliage sees a distinct departure from the usual shrubs: shading and minute brushwork create a magic of its own. The artist has used them for aesthetic purpose and not to conceal the erotic activities of the couple. Amidst the clear blue skies and various shades of greens, the graceful figures of Krishna and Radha, with their dignified poise, provide a glow to the scene.
