Ardhanarishvara is depicted as half-man (Shiva) and half-woman (Shakti). This half-man, half-woman form depicts Shiva on the right who has a straight vertical chest, broader shoulder, and muscular thigh. The left side depicts Shakti, adorned with jewellery, graceful and tender. Ardhanarishvara is standing in “Tribhanga posture”, signifying the harmonious union of masculine and feminine energies. He holds a “Parashu” in his upper right hand, symbolising the destructive aspect of Lord Shiva. His lower right hand is in “Abhaya Mudra”. This gesture symbolises Protection, Peace and Dispelling of fear. Crafted in Brass, this masterpiece evokes reverence and spiritual contemplation.
