Description
About the Book

In the Preface the author, Susunaga Weeraperuma, has made the following observations:

"The writing of these essays has been a labour of love. Nothing in life has been dearer or nearer to my heart than the teachings of J. Krishnamurti. They have always been, and still are, a source of inexhaustible spiritual inspiration. "The book is the outcome of a very careful examination of the teachings: it is not an interpretation of Krishnamurti's statements on life's deepest questions, but purely a searching investigation of them. I have looked at the teachings closely and critically, without interpreting them that I have not foisted into them any ideologies or beliefs. "This work is also the account of explorations into my own mind and heart: it is, in other words, the record of experiments with awareness.

"The fascinating and incisive essays that comprise this book were inspired by Krishnamurti's statements on Life's fundamental questions. Some of the topics covered are: 'Why believe in God?', 'Why believe in reincarnation?', 'Is dreamless sleep possible?' and 'Does naming hinder the Nameless?"

About the Author

Susunaga Weeraperuma is internationally known as the compiler of the only existent bibliography of Krishnamurti, entitled A Bibliography of the Life and Teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, now being pub-lished as Jiddu Krishnamurti:A Bibliographical Guide.

His other works, also being published by Motilal Banarsidass, are: Living and Dying from Moment to Moment, That Pathless Land, Say-ings of J. Krishnamurti, J. Krishnamurti As I Knew Him and Major Religions of India.

Weeraperuma is extremely well acquainted with all the writings of J. Krishnamurti as well as the corpus of literature, in different languages, on Krishnamurti. Thinker, lecturer and writer, he worked at the British National Bibliography (British Library) as well as other London libraries and has published several works on Library Science.
