About the Authors Sohini Roychowdhury, Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, movement director, producer, Dance Therapist, author and professor of Natyashastra, is the founder of Sohinimoksha World Dance & Communications in Madrid/Berlin/Kolkata/New York and Sohinimoksha Artes de La India in Madrid, Spain.

A premier ambassador of Indian culture for the last several years, Sohini's performances solo and with her multinational troupe Sohinimoksha, have been garnering tumultuous audience appreciation, and rave critical reviews all over the world.

A visiting professor of dance at 17 Universities across the globe, Sohini is a winner of the Mahatma Gandhi PravasiSamman' by The House of Lords, British Parliament; the Priyadarshini Award for Outstanding Achievement in Arts, New Delhi; Exceptional Women of Excellence Award by Women Economic Forum (WEF); 'Governor's Commendation' for Distinguished World Artiste by the Governor of Namur Province, Belgium; She Inspires Global Culture Champion Award 2021 and She Inspires Global Woman of the Year 2021 at the She Inspires Awards UK, Women Economic Forum 'Leader of The Decade', The Telegraph She Award in Dance Category 2023 and has been a European Brand Ambassador for India Tourism's "Incredible India' campaign.

In 2021, 'Dancing with The Gods' - a coffee-table book, inspired by the performances of Sohini and Sohinimoksha World Dance troupe, and based on Sohini's researched archives on Connecting Civilisations through dance and mythology. was published by Roli Books, and is widely available throughout the world.

In 2022, Sohini authored Indian Stage Stories', a treatise on Natyasastra, and the connection of Bharatmuni to Aristotle's theory of dramatic unity. Published by Subhi Publications, the book was launched at the Jaipur Lit Fest 2023 in India, and at the House of Commons in the UK.

RISHI DASGUPTA A 2022 MSc in Economics from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, Rishi is the research assistant, and co-author, of this book. Rishi, currently pursuing a career in the UK, is a polyglot and an acoustic guitarist who has performed at COP26 Glasgow and at the House of Commons, UK Parliament.
