Chaturbhujadhari Devi Kali Wields The Mace
The resplendent Devi Kali stands upon rough terrain. Her husband, the Lord Shiva, lies supine beneath Her, gazing upon the magnificence of His spouse. Together they preside over cosmic destruction, a divine process integral to the replication of existence. She is one of the rare wrathful deities of the Hindu dharma, matchless in terms of both beauty and vigour. That ferocious exterior is set off by remarkable magnetism of form and face, as could be seen in this Devi Kali composition.

She is tall and lithe, the proportions of Her fecund form revealed unto the devoteeā€™s visualisation. She wears a skirt of severed arms, a garland of butchered heads, and ample gold adornments as befit a parlokiya devi. Note the mace that She wields high above Her head, a stance that is expressive of Her superlative strength and invincibility. An ornate halo and a crown of skullbones complete Her iconography. Note the detail of the tongue lounging outside Her mouth and the perfect symmetry of Her facial features.
