This book has been written keeping the examination patterns of various Law Universities in view and to help students prepare for competitive examinations like CLAT and LAWCET. Further, good number of Case Laws are provided to enable students to cite them on relevant occasion and topic. The book will be useful not only for all needs of students, but also for reference of faculty members and research scholars

Sri Sunkara Saibabu was born in a poor peasant's family in the Guntur District of A.P. His brilliance and spark in learning was notable even from the early days of schooling. He topped in almost every exam throughout his student life. Besides academics, he excelled in extracurricular activities, and participated in state level volley ball tournaments.

Saibabu joined Police Department as a Sub-Inspector of Police in 1976 and having worked for 35 years, retired as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) with remarkable achievement.

Later, he worked as the Dean of Student Affairs in Rao & Naidu Engineering College, Ongole and presented inspiring papers at several Seminars, motivating students.

After retirement, Saibabu's penchant for Law, made him join in the Indira Priyadarsini Law College, Ongole where he completed LLB and LLM. At present, he is working as a Lecturer at the same college, laying paths for future advocates and judicial officers.

Legal profession has been considered the noblest of professions, since the dawn of civilisation. It, still, is a philosophical puzzle; whether law is invented or discovered. Thus, being its status, we come across voluminous works in almost every branch of Law written by both foreign and Indian authors.

Since the Law of Torts, however essential in day to day life, is not a codified law, students often find it difficult to prepare notes and depend merely on text-books.

Moreover, Torts is a subject which has its genesis from Roman Law, and even the most recent sources of Torts are as old as the Common Law of 1580s. With varying diction and terminology, the Law of Torts has always been there, and the USA is the most influenced country by Tort Law. But despite its antiquity, the state of Torts, not being codified, forces the students to look for some saviour material. All the available text books and other materials are certainly of high erudition by eminent scholars, but too high for the young minds who worry about exams. And this is what makes me think of putting the essence of the subject into a form easily digestible to the students.

I have put my best efforts to make this material simple, yet systematic enough not to miss any important point, keeping examinations in view. Special care has been taken regarding language in this material, keeping regional language medium students in view. The English here is not only lucid but caters even to those who want to score high with less hardship, because this material is prepared by studying the works of various authors, legal experts and jurists, so that it is accurate and authentic to the best possible.
