Lord Kartikeya is an ancient Hindu god of war also named as Murugan, Skanda popularly worshipped in South India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. He is an embodiment of perfection, commander-in-chief of the celestials and the one created to destroy demons and negative traits in human beings. This Kartikeya marble statue stands in his iconographic standing posture on a pedestal; although carved in usual figurine but its beauty is enhanced by the way it is sculpted in out of a single piece of marble in pure white unfurling an aura of purity, love, divinity and immeasurable charm.
He is garbed in a long dhoti embellished in graceful beads along the legs in horizontal pattern and highlighted by a gold and red border that complements with his divine personality; adorned in a thick necklace of white and gold beads and a long flower garland, Murugan has his left hand resting on dhoti and right holds his decorated weapon spear along with an armour like warrior on his chest. The stone studded beautiful crown glorifies on his golden hair with the mesmerizing lotus eyes and red lips flaunting his essence of worship. The blue, gold and green peacock standing behind this ever-youthful man is his sacred vahana.
This standing marble statue is a great ornamentation to be kept at hall entrances or in temples for worship.
